Zack Rogers, P.E., LEED AP (BD+C)
President - Daylighting Innovations Zack Rogers is founder and president of Daylighting Innovations, LLC. Zack provides optical daylighting design and has a Patent for the optical design of the award winning LightLouver daylighting system. He provides software programming and development services and is the head developer of the award-winning Sensor Placement + Optimization Tool (SPOT). He has published work on daylighting simulation techniques and daylighting metrics and speaks regularly on sustainability, daylighting design and photosensor-based lighting controls. Zack is considered an expert in daylighting design and simulation and serves on several national committees including the Illumination Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) Daylighting and Daylighting Metric Committees, the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) National and Colorado Committees, and the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) Daylighting Committee. Zack provides overall project direction and guidance at Daylighting Innovations as well as daylighting design, analysis and simulation expertise and overall sustainable design and analysis. Dennis Jones, PE, LEED AP, CxA
Principal - Element5 Energy Consultants Dennis has over 35 years of experience in building energy optimization, energy modeling, energy audits, commissioning (Cx), retro-commissioning (RCx), renewable energy, and research. Dennis feels his greatest strength is his analytic expertise in building energy systems and modeling combined with his hands-on commissioning experience in the field; providing him with insight as to how well advanced energy strategies actually work in the real world. Dennis is most interested in zero energy building facilitation; it’s easier to get to zero energy than most people believe. It’s not about just adding a large PV array to the building, but rather proper engineering of more cost-effective design elements including daylighting, passive solar heating, natural cooling, and appropriate design of envelope, lighting, and HVAC systems. Dennis is active on the national level with ASHRAE, regularly presenting papers, working on technical committees to advance the state of the art, and has recently completed a major ASHRAE research project on the effectiveness of the Advanced Energy Design Guidelines. Dennis and his wife and dog, Ziggy, live in Belmar, a new-urban walkable community west of Denver. Their condo is 100% naturally cooled and heated with passive solar energy. Brad Queen
Founder - Cube Resources Brad is the founder of Cube Resources, providing electric load optimization analysis and resource efficiency planning. He started his career as an Edison Engineer, working in spacecraft design, systems engineering, and business operations at General Electric, Lockheed Martin, and Ball Aerospace. As the Energy Division Director at the Center for ReSource Conservation he managed the Residential Energy Action Program, the northern Denver Energy Challenge, and the largest sustainable homes tour in Colorado. He created the ReNew Our Schools energy conservation competition. He is a member of the City of Boulder’s Environmental Advisory Board. |
Courtney France, LEED AP
Principle - France Sustainable Solutions Courtney has worked on over 250+ LEED-related projects around the world applying the USGBC’s green building rating system, including LEED-NC, -CS, -CI, -ND, -Schools, and -EBOM. Courtney consults nationally with owners, facilities managers, developers, contractors, and design firms and has conducted LEED Accreditation Training for over 2,500+ individuals, representing all building industry sectors. She specializes in a full range of sustainable building and LEED Project Management consulting services ranging from feasibility studies, hard and soft cost analysis, drawing, specifications, and submittal reviews for new and existing structure renovation projects, and other LEED-related certification and documentation services for all rating system types.
